Tom Kerner, CFP®

Tom grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, where his father is a third generation small business owner. Tom grew up around hard work,
planning, and client relationships and has held these values
throughout his life. Tom played sports throughout his life and
developed strong leadership skills and a mindset towards teamwork
within the lines of play.
Tom attended the Pennsylvania State University, where he earned
a degree in Finance and was recognized on the Dean’s List in all
but one semester. Tom took an immediate interest in finance and
had a passion for learning how investment vehicles and financial
markets can help an individual secure their financial future.
Outside of class, Tom tutored a business statistics course, played
on the Club Basketball Team, and was heavily involved in THON –
Penn State’s university wide, student run fundraising effort
benefiting pediatric cancer.
Tom joined the Financial and Estate Planning Department as a
Financial Planning Associate in January 2022. He began his career
at Baird in the summer of 2020 as a Private Wealth Management
Foundations Program Associate. He was drawn to the program
because of his passion for education and providing comfort to
people through knowledge. Tom is a very outgoing person and
prioritizes the value of strong relationships. As a new financial
Planner, he plans to implement his skills and passion for education
in financial life to deliver tangible improvement to the lives of Baird
clients. Tom plans to relocate to the Charlotte office in Q2 2022.
